    End of the Dryspell?

Wow it's been awhile. So Amanda and I were in Mpls at the Loft in Barfly to watch Lovedrug and we talked about how it had been months since we were in downtown. The crowd small, the club a pile, the band amazing. Even got to talk to Michael Shepard, the singer/mastermind of the band. Then on Halloween I ended up going with Sean, the Godum (sp) bros. and Cowboy Chris to First Ave. for the Halloween Costume Bash. Sean won the grand prize of $500. A couple nights earlier he won another $500 cash at the Fine Line's costume contest. The word is he might have entered a couple other smaller scale contests as well. Needless to say his 65-pound steel Bender costume from Futurama was amazing! Then for the third time in a week, Amanda and I headed to downtown for another favorite band of ours, Guster at the State Theater. They have a lot of great songs. I almost see me moving away from the all-out rock/metal stuff some day and playing in a band in a similar vein. Now Todd and I are going to the Myth Nightclub tomorrow to see Paul Stanley on his solo tour. Now before you give me too much shit keep in mind that Todd got these $35 tickets for FREE. There's even a cocktail party beforehand where you can meet the guy. I wonder if he's as ugly as his pictures (without makeup). Listen to new Deftones. Believe in the one true color!

When I hang a roll of toilet paper, I prefer that the end hangs in front. Amanda, Todd and I think Chris and Rachel have it hang in the back. It seems easier to do it my way, because the end is closer and is easier to grab opposed to the other way where you have to reach underneath . Is there something I'm not getting here? Please enlighten me.

The last day of the Cali trip we were at Universal Studios. As we were walking into the gate a chaperone informed me that a student had a really bad headache and was crying. The night before she bumped her head in the hotel stairwell playing lightsabers. So we brought her straight to first aid where she rested with an icepack on her head waiting for the ibuprofen to kick in. Her pain increased so the nurse recommended taking her to the hospital. On the way to the hospital the shuttle driver gave us a mini tour of the area including Frank Sinatra's old house, Disney studios, and where the Tonight Show is filmed. He had also driven celebrities such as George Clooney, Mick Jagger, Helen Hunt and Colin Ferrell. We ended up spending 6 hours in the ER- most of it waiting. The doctor said she was fine and just needed Motrin. We got back to Universal just in time for the student to go on one ride then meet the group. We then walked the group over to the Hard Rock Cafe which was a highlight for several students. Highlights for me were Jimmy Page's double neck axe and the cowboy costumes from Primus' "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver" video. :) The dinner ended with a kid puking on the floor in front of everybody. Man!

    Planes, Trains and Automobiles....

On our way out of town we drove the Las Vegas strip. That city is truly a spectacle, especially at night. One minute your driving in the dark nothingness of the desert then a turn around a hill and *boom*,a mesmerizing sea of lights. Las Vegas is the fastest growing city in the nation increasing its population 17,000 each month. After 30 hours on the bus, I was dropped off in Omaha where I had a plane to catch the next morning to Chicago. From there I drove a rental car to Rockford, IL for the Phantom Regiment's 50th anniversary and 10-year reunion of the '96 championship year. They had a beer tent that was free for alumni. You know I took advantage of that! The next morning I rode with Mike O. back to the Cities and Amanda picked me up in Woodbury and drove me to the school to get my car.

Now it's unpacking and repacking for Breezy Point in two days.

New MUSE album out today.....hell yes!!!
